“As one of Arkansas’s seven constitutional officers, the Auditor of State plays a very important role in the day to day business of state government. The Auditor is the general accountant for the State and serves as the payroll officer for the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches. In addition to these duties, the Auditor administers Arkansas’s Unclaimed Property (UCP) program, The Great Arkansas Treasure Hunt. Through the program, our office connects state residents with their unclaimed property and allows current and past residents to collect their property at any time” (official website).

Our purpose is to support executive agency management in the discharge of their governance, risk management, and internal control responsibilities through independent, objective assurance and consultation activities of executive branch functions. These activities provide executive agency management information that assists them in the achievement of their objectives surrounding efficiency and effectiveness of operations, internal and external reporting, compliance with laws and regulations, and safeguarding of state assets.
