Christopher Hunter

Civic Education Outreach Coordinator

Christopher is the Levin Center’s Civic Education Outreach Coordinator. He is responsible for the project management, outreach, and engagement for Levin Center’s civic education program, Learning by Hearings (LbH).  LbH which is focused on government oversight, provides resources, classroom modules, and after-school enrichment opportunities provide robust, experiential education opportunities where students learn about history, government, and current events while developing their capacity for critical thinking and inquiry.  

Christopher has more than 10 years of leadership experience in outreach, and in student centered offices dedicated to justice and good governance in Higher Education including Diversity and Inclusion Specialist for the University of Michigan’s School of Education, Director of Equity and Engagement for Schoolcraft College, and C.O.R.E. Program Coordinator for the Center for Multicultural Initiatives with Oakland University.  

Christopher holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Africana Studies from Wayne State University and is completing a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Oakland University.  

Christopher, a native Detroiter, enjoys spending time with his wife and their two daughters, reading, writing, and volunteering.
